The days of people with bad credit buying a house with no money down are likely gone forever. While there are still a few programs available, they generally have very strict requirements. Veterans can still get no down payment loans through Quicken Loans.
While no money down mortgages are becoming increasingly rare, it is still relatively easy to get mortgages with low money down. Putting down as little as 4% will not only make it much easier to secure a loan, it will get you a much better interest rate than what is typically offered to borrowers putting no money down.
